Advisors
Welcome advisors! We look forward to working with you this year as you help your students excel in math and science and encourage them to become eligible for the most competitive colleges and universities.
We're ready to build on last year's activities and lessons and provide our MESA students with some fun new projects and trips this year. Activities for the fall semester include:
- MESA Saturday Academies: Students come together on the CSU Fresno campus to interact with faculty, staff, and college mentors. Additionally, they learn about college life and tackle MESA projects and other hands-on science and engineering activities. This year, we'll have three Academies during the fall.
- Robotics: We will again participate in a robotics competition this year (likely in conjunction with MESA Day), so we'll have some activities at the Saturday Academies during the fall that will help students learn how to build and program robots.
- Catalina Island Marine Institute: A group of middle school students and advisors will have the chance to travel to Catalina Island for three days in November to snorkel, to study the island's ecology, to learn about conservation, and more.
- New MESA Day Competitions: Though MESA Day isn't until March, the fall is a great time to start exploring the projects. There are several new competitions this year, as well as changes to some old favorites!
All advisors must have an online Advisor Profile. This profile gives us important contact information and is required by our statewide office. The link is coming soon.
